Synchronised

Age: 9

Trainer: Jonjo O'Neill

Notable Race Wins:-

Midlands National: 2010

Welsh National: 2011

Cheltenham Gold Cup: 2012

Synchronised has shown that stamina is his main attribute as he has already bagged a brace of marathon successes during his career.  In 2010 he narrowly edged out L'Aventure in an eventful Midlands National at Uttoxeter that saw only three horses finish the gruelling 4m 1f 110yards course.

Then a year later he enhanced his reputation as an out-and-out stayer when storming to a two-and-three-quarter length success in the Welsh National on pretty heavy ground.  He then just came up short in the Midlands National and finished a creditable third place before disappointing in the Irish National.

A win in the Lexus Chase saw Synchronised handed a shock entry in the Cheltenham Gold Cup and the classy gelding produced a superb performance to edge out The Giant Bolster to land a spectacular prize and he could head to Aintree in fine fettle.

No doubt Jonjo O'Neill will be looking to keep him over the extreme distances in the 2011/2012 season and if all goes to plan then he may embark on a season aimed ultimately at the Aintree Grand National.

At only eight years old there is still plenty of chance that he could improve further and will be definitely one to keep an eye on in the staying chases leading up to the April marathon.

Proven on most ground, the underground conditions shouldn't be a problem for the Jackdaws Castle inmate and with AP McCoy a possible pilot in the contest is one to follow over the national hunt season.
