Bookmakers Racing Offers

Free Bets

Bookmakers are forever advertising the latest free bet offers they have available for new customers and all the bookmakers including Paddy Power and Victor Chandler offer a free bet upon registration.

Each bookmaker have their own incentives on offer for customers opening a new account with, for example, Paddy Power offering up to £200 in free bets to anyone signing up and placing a bet up to a certain amount.

It is always worth looking around to find the best offer that suits you as there are so many allurements on offer if you are opening an account for the first time.

Best Odds Guaranteed

Bookmakers like Paddy Power are now offering Best Odds Guaranteed on all UK & Irish horse racing which allows the punter a safety net if there's a sudden fluctuation in price on a specific horse.

Best Odds Guaranteed allows you to take the price of the horse when placing the bet and if the starting price is bigger then you will gain the bigger price.  So, if you have taken 5/1 about your horse in a specified race and the horse returns of a starting price of 8/1, you automatically get paid out on an 8/1 winner.

Obviously when you are live at a track you have to take the price currently being displayed on the boards, but with the likes of Paddy Power and Bet365, who offer this service both in their shops and online, you can place your bet with no worry about the price lengthening.

Money Back Specials

With competition at an all-time high, bookmakers are continually finding ways to gain custom and offering money back specials has been a relatively new way of drumming up business.

Paddy Power are often seen advertising money back specials on the television and in particular when the Cheltenham Festival is on in March.  The last two seasons they have taken on the short-priced favourite in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle on the opening day of the festival by offering punters their money back if the favourite won.

In 2010 they offered to refund all losing bets if Dunguib won the 2010 Supreme Novices' and in 2011 would've refunded bets if Cue Card had won.  Attracting a whole load of money on the race, Paddy Power didn't have to refund any bets as the aforementioned duo failed to win the Cheltenham Festival curtain-raiser.

No doubt these money back specials will continue to attract business and surely one day they will have to refund all bets on these horse racing special bets.

Non Runner No Bet

With ante-post markets being priced up weeks and even months before the race is run, it is always frustrating for punters if there selection doesn't even run in the race and they automatically lose their money.

Obviously it's the risk you take with betting ante-post, but make sure you keep an eye out for bookmakers offering Non Runner No Bet nearer the time of the race taking place.

The Grand National, in particular, usually sees a plethora of bookmakers go Non Runner No Bet and you know when placing your bet if your selection fails to line up then you will receive your money back.

Make sure you look for the Non Runner No Bet or the NRNB icon next to the ante-post markets and you can place your bet in the knowledge of if your horse is scratched from the field you will gain a refund.
