Paul Nicholls decision to send Big Buck's back to hurdles following his last fence mishap in the 2008 Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury has proved to be an inspired decision as the Stewart Family-owned son of Cadoudal has dominated the staying hurdle scene for the last four years.

Now going into the 2012/2013 season as a four times Ladbrokes World Hurdle winner, the nine-year-old has notched up a perfect record since returning to the smaller obstacles winning his last 17 races.

His dominance at the Cheltenham Festival has seen him become many people's festival banker and even though the up-and-coming staying hurdlers continue to take him on, he duly outstays them with his magnificent engine, as he showed when beating Voler La Vedette in the 2012 renewal.

Arguably his most impressive performance came in the 2011 Liverpool Hurdle as he locked horns again with David Pipe's Grands Crus, but he has looked simply unbeatable and even though Voler La Vedette travelled into the 2012 World Hurdle eyecatchingly, Ruby Walsh just merely stoked up his raider and he pulled clear of the mare in the final furlong.

That just showed his dominance over his long distance hurdle opponents and with Nicholls set to keep him over flights, he is surely going to be bagging yet more top class staying glory in the new season for the Ditcheat yard.
